FAZA'IL-E-A'MAAL PART 1 STORIES OF THE SAHAABAH.....Hadhrat 'Umar (Radhiyallaho anho) coming into Islam

 

Hadhrat 'Umar (Radhiyallaho anho), of whom all the Muslims are justly proud, and the disbelievers still dread, was most adamant in opposing the Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) and very prominent in persecuting the Muslims before he embraced Islam. One day, the Qureysh in a meeting called for somebody to volunteer himself for the assassination of the Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasal-lam). 'Umar (Radhiyallaho anho) offered himself for this job, at which everybody exclaimed:

"Surely, you can do it, 'Umar!"

The Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam said: "Truly smart is the person who controlled his desires and prepared for life after death."

There is a moving story about Bahlool, who, in his innocence seems to be on the opposite end of the scale of worldly-smartness. Khalifa Haroon ur Rashid had given him access to his court probably because his naiveté was a source of entertainment to him. Once the Khalifa gave him a walking stick saying, "It is meant for the most foolish person in the world. If you find a person more deserving of it than yourself, pass it on." Several years later Haroon ur Rashid fell seriously ill and no medical treatment seemed to work. Bahlool visited him and inquired about his condition. The conversation went something like this:

Abu Hurayrah (radhiyallaahu ‘anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said,

“The rights of the Muslim upon the Muslim are six.” It was said, “And what are they Oh Messenger of Allaah?” He replied,

1.“When you meet him, give him the greeting of peace,
2.When he invites you, respond to his invitation,
3.When he seeks your advice, advise him,
4.When he sneezes and praises Allaah, supplicate for mercy upon him,
5.When he becomes ills, visit him, and
6.When he dies follow him (i.e. his funeral).”

STORY -- THE BEARD

 

A qualified medical worker from India emigrated to Canada to live a better life. This Muslim brother had a beard. He applied to many different places for a job and was called for interviews. Though he was highly qualified for the jobs, the interviewers hesitated to hire him because of his beard. One by one, he was rejected from all the companies. One interviewer actually mentioned to him indirectly that his beard was an obstacle to getting the job. Trully, it was a big test for him from Allah.

What Islam say's About the Beard

 

Importance of the Beard in the words of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam):
(1) Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said "I haveno connection with one who shaves, shouts and tears his clothing eg. in grief or affication."
- Reported by Abu Darda (R.A.) in Muslim, Hadith no. 501
(2) Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Umar(R.A.) relates that: "He who imitates the kuffar (non-believers) and dies in that state, he will be raised up with them on the Day of Qiyamat (Judgement)."
(4) Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) says:

Think Twice before You Speak Once

 

Speaking exists long before writing. Actually speaking is the second oldest thing after thinking. So mankind has been thinking for a very long time. Thoughts were there long before the speech was discovered and for a very long time man had been thinking with a complete silence until the speech came.

Speaking is a means of expressing our ideas, thoughts. It is the most widely used type of communication. But sometimes it may also lead to disasters and destructions since there is a saying: “Words cut more than swords.” which is a very good saying because sometimes one can hurt another so much using words.

Hijaab for Men & Women

 

Islam has a system of hijaab. The Glorious Qur’an first mentions hijaab for the men and then for the women. Hijaab for the men is mentioned in the following verse:

"Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do."

[Al-Qur’an 24:30]

The moment a man looks at a woman and if any brazen or unashamed thought comes to his mind, he should lower his gaze.

Plucking Eyebrows is HARAM

In his prayer for Divine help, his Amen' was a sword,
Which extirpated the lineage of kings.

He brought the empires old to an end:
In his sight the high and the low were one,
He sat with the slave at table one;
He burnt clear the distinctions of birth and clan.
His fire consumed all this trash and bran.

Sand and Stone:

 

Two friends Ismail and Ibrahim were walking through the desert, as the sun was beating down on their heads, and they were thirsty for water they began to argue. The argument got more and more heated and eventually Ismail struck Ibrahim across the face. Ibrahim felt hurt inside, but without anything to say, he wrote in the sand: “Today, my best friend slapped me in the face.”

The Power of Prayer .....

 

A poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries. She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food. The grocer scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can." He told her he could not give her credit, as she did not have a charge account at his store.

What is the story of Hajr-e-Aswad [ Balck stone]?

There is a black stone in the north Eastern of the Ka'ba. This stone is called Hajr-e-Aswad [Black stone]. This stone was probably part of a meteoroid.That fell near Mecca on a Mountain called Abu Qubais. At the time of Construction of Ka'ba. Hadrat Ibrahim [Abraham].Brought it down and placed in the corner of the Ka'ba .as a great sign and a monument, Anyone who performs Pilgrimage is expected to kiss this Memorial stone. This stone part of Allah's mark and is a sign of Him. Being the Supreme being, One loves thing that belong to one's beloved, The same philosophy exists behind kissing the stone. '' This stone has no Power and Provides neither Benefit nor Harm to Anyone''

Answer: If you want to judge how good is the latest model of the "Mercedes" car and a person who does not know how to drive sits at the steering wheel and bangs up the car, who will you blame? The car or the driver? But naturally, the driver. To analyze how good the car is, a person should not look at the driver but see the ability and features of the car. How fast is it, what is its average fuel consumption, what are the safety measures, etc. Even if I agree for the sake of argument that the Muslims are bad, we can’t judge Islam by its followers?

Good intentions lead to good deeds, and Allah Almighty knows what is in our hearts and He will reward us accordingly. You see, your salvation is living Islamicly and doing good deeds in this world. These good deeds come from good intentions. Yet, good intentions ought to come from a pure, honest, and virtuous heart; in other words you must mean well. For such an endeavor Allah will reward us for the acts of merits (Thawaab).

قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن تَزَكَّى وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى

Dua to Improve Eye Sight, Cure Blindness

Recite this verse three times after every salaah(prayer) for strengthening of eye-sight: 

“Laqad kunta fie ghaflatim min haadha fakashafna anka ghitaa-aka fabasurakal hadeed”

“(It will be said) Thou wast heedless of 

this, now We have removed thy veil, And sharp is thy sight this day !
